Women who suffer from stress-induced incontinence, that is, incontinence that is caused by coughing, laughing, exercising or sneezing may find that they do not have the confidence to do the things they once enjoyed. When a night at the theatre, your child’s piano recital or attending a professional sports game comes with the risk that you may experience a bladder leak, women who have stress-induced incontinence may find that they feel safer staying at home. This is not the way to live life to the fullest! This is an issue that affects more women than you may realize, and as a result, we are able to help you to get you back to enjoying the things you love, without the worry that there may be a bladder related accident.

The pelvic floor is made up of muscles that support your internal organs, control sexual functions as well as bladder and bowel activity. When the pelvic floor is not working as optimally as it could, this is when women experience incontinence. However, like other muscles in your body, your pelvic floor can be retrained to perform at optimal levels. At South Orange County Physical Therapy (South OCPT) we specialize in pelvic floor rehabilitation. We offer knowledgeable and discreet staff in a comfortable and inviting setting. Women can feel assured that their issues and concerns will be heard and then be taken care of by staff who understand the problem and are trained to help.

We offer personalized treatment for all pelvic floor conditions, understanding that each individual is different. Our comfortable and respectful environment will help you to reach your health and wellness goals. Your pelvic floor treatment could range from muscle training to biofeedback. We will assess your pelvic floor function and tailor a program to fit your specific needs. We will discuss relevant lifestyle factors with you in order to have a full understanding of your needs which will assist us in designing a program that is suited for you.

Through education, manual therapy, biofeedback, and individualized programming, our specialists can help you to identify and manage your symptoms to help you get back out there and doing what you love!
